Two brothers from Hallowell were injured early Wednesday when their 2003 pickup truck went out of control on Town Farm Road and struck a tree head-on, police said.

Hallowell Police Chief Eric Nason said the driver, Jordan Dailey, 23, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta and then transferred to a hospital in Portland. Nason said Dailey’s injuries were possibly life-threatening.

Jeremy Dailey, 18, the passenger, was also taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center. Nason said the younger Dailey appeared to have serious injuries.

“The road conditions were slightly icy this morning in that area,” Nason said, adding that it appears the car was going too fast for road conditions.

The crash was reported at 7:41 a.m.

“We do not suspect alcohol at this point,” Nason said.
