The operator of a chain of auto parts stores has applied for a permit to build a store at the site of the former Wok Inn at Morrill’s Corner in Portland.
AutoZone Parts Inc. plans to replace the existing vacant building with a new structure totaling 6,970 square feet, according to plans filed with the city.
Neighbors are being notified about the proposal, which will be reviewed administratively by city staff and does not need approval by the Planning Board.
The Wok Inn, a longtime landmark at the busy intersection, opened in 1981 and closed in 2013.
