A Portland Press Herald analysis of calls for service from the Portland Police Department show that the most common crimes in the city include assaults and burglaries of commercial and residential properties as well as motor vehicles. Some of those crimes tend to occur during certain times of day, months of the year and days of the week. The map above divides the city into the separate police patrol beats.
