LD 1736 - An Act To Create a State-run Virtual Academy

L.D. 1736, sponsored by Sen. Brian Langley, R-Ellsworth, directs the Department of Education to form a committee to determine the costs and structure of a state-run academy that would afford students and school districts the benefits of online course learning. It also imposes a one-year moratorium on the licensing of virtual charter schools run by private companies. This is the preliminary House vote. Additional votes will be taken in the House and Senate.
