With its 6-foot lighthouse, flower beds and mountain views, Beach 6 just might be the most popular swimming and sunbathing area on Frye Island.

Vermonter Deborah Roberts can watch her family safely enjoy the gentle shallow Long Beach. Each of Frye Island’s 13 beaches seems to be somebody’s favorite place to spend a summer day.

John Donovan, 12, and his 8-year-old sister Emma, both of Stow, Massachusetts, will soon by rafting on the warm, gentle waters of Long Beach.

Seasonal residents and visitors find Frye Island a most welcoming place, where cars are few and bicycling is the main form of transportation along Leisure Lane, which circles the entire isle.
