Elizabeth Lobozzo transplants basil as she works at Olivia's Garden at The Greenhouses at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. In addition to basil, the greenhouses grow tomatoes, greens, pea shoots, lettuce and cucumbers.
Lobozzo packs 15 plants per box and 25 boxes per day for area supermarkets.
Lobozzo carries two trays of basil she will transplant at Olivia's Garden. Lobozzo says she has had this job for six years and the best part is the pace of the job.
These basil seedlings being grown at Olivia's Garden are just 13 weeks old.
Lobozzo cleans up after filling trays (above her) at The Greenhouses at Pineland Farms. "I like working in a warm climate year-round, good music and the fact we provide Maine with local produce," Lobozzo said.
