Mary DeRose, of South Portland, is one of the activists and religious leaders who staged an event protesting the "zero tolerance" policies of the Trump[ administration that have resulted in about 650 children being separated from their families at the U.S. border during a two-week period in May.
Protesters are confronted by Homeland Security officers and South Portland police officers as they approach the Homeland Security office building.

If I didn't do anything, "I wasn't sure I could look at myself in the mirror anymore," said Corey, who was cited for failure to obey a lawful order when she was asked to move off the property and refused. "I am going to keep on being disobedient until things change."
