Steve Hauke, owner and pharmacist at PetScripts on Forest Falls Drive in Yarmouth, advises Ruthanne Fisher of Cumberland about a prescription for her cat, Greyson.
Steve Hauke uses a mortar and pestle to grind a prescription into powder for capsules. He said a pet owner once brought in a water dragon – a kind of lizard – to get medication for an infection.
After grinding pills, Hauke spreads the powdered prescription into a capsule mold.
Hauke attaches a prescription label on the finished medication.
