PORTLAND – Nancy McAdam scored her second goal of the game early in overtime Tuesday to lift Portland High to a 6-5 victory over crosstown rival Deering in an SMAA girls’ lacrosse game at Deering High’s Memorial Field.

Dani Holt stopped six shots for the Bulldogs (6-3).

Cahra Abu led Deering (3-5-1) with two goals and Julie Pallozzi finished with 18 saves.

 

BONNY EAGLE 16, NOBLE 6: Kate Boyer scored five goals to pace the Scots (2-6) as they downed the Knights (0-8) at Standish.

Kari Christensen added four goals for Bonny Eagle and Kim Wakefield had a hat trick.

Noble was led by Carson Waterman with three goals and Ally Roets, who scored twice.

 

CHEVERUS 11, WINDHAM 8: Grace Fitzpatrick scored five goals and Emily VanDuzer added three goals and one assist to lead the Stags (6-3) as they opened the second half with a 4-0 run to rally from a 6-5 halftime deficit against the Eagles (5-3-1) at Windham.

Sam Gifford scored three goals for the Eagles, and Sam Clapp and Christina Pollard added two goals apiece.

Gifford and Clapp each had one assist for Windham.

GORHAM 13, MARSHWOOD 4: Mia Rapolla scored nine goals and assisted on two others to lead the Rams (8-0) as they cruised past the Hawks (3-6) at Gorham.

Chelsea Black added a pair of goals for Gorham, and Mo Clements had 13 saves.

Marshwood was paced by Natasha Chabot with two goals and one assist.

 

SANFORD 11, BIDDEFORD 6: Sarah Alexander, Karissa Steltzer, Kristina Farmer and Haley Nordmann each scored two goals to lead the Redskins (5-2) in a game in which they never trailed at Biddeford.

Jackie Muphy scored a hat trick while MaryAnn Marshall added a pair of goals for the Tigers (1-7).

SOUTH PORTLAND 16, MCAULEY 10: Nikki LaPlante scored seven goals to lead the Red Riots (4-4) over the Lions (3-6) in a win in which they never trailed at South Portland.

Mary Leasure and Tori Tenenbaum each scored three goals and two assists for McAuley.

 

WAYNFLETE 14, GREELY 4: Amy Allen scored four goals and Scout Haffenresser added a hat trick as the Flyers (7-1) downed the Rangers (0-8) at Cumberland.

Greely was paced by Mel Howland with three goals.

WELLS 9, FREEPORT 5: Sisters Lily and Becca Colley each scored two goals and an assist to lead Wells (3-4) over Freeport (3-6) at home.

Jenni Li added a pair of goals while Savanna Suvilia made 11 saves.

Lucy Whitaker scored a hat trick for the Warriors.

 

KENNEBUNK 15, MASSABESIC 13: Brooke Worcester opened the game scoring the first four goals to lead the Rams (7-1) past the Mustangs (3-4) at Waterboro.

She finished with eight goals and one assist while Taylor Crowley added three goals and two assists.

Heather Everett chipped in three goals and an assist for Massabesic.

SOFTBALL

GREELY 10, YARMOUTH 4: Michaela Finnegan hit a pair of doubles, drove in three runs and struck out four while pitching an eight-hitter to lead the Rangers (10-1) past the Clippers (6-5) at Cumberland.

Marika Stayte added three hits, three RBI and two runs scored for Greely, which broke the game open with five runs in the second inning.

Abbie Hutchinson hit a solo home run, doubled and scored two runs to pace Yarmouth.

Morgan Ruetty added three hits and an RBI for the Clippers.
