PORTLAND – Mick DiStasio and Louie DiStasio combined to throw 12 shutout innings Saturday, leading First Title of Maine to 4-0 and 3-0 victories against Andrews Post in an American Legion baseball doubleheader at Haverty Field.

Tyler Flaherty totaled three hits and three RBI for First Title (5-1).

Mick DiStasio allowed four hits, struck out four and walked one in a complete game against Andrews (0-6) in the opener. He also tripled and scored in the first inning.

Louie DiStasio went five innings in the second game, allowing five hits and striking out three. Joey Royer struck out two in two innings for the save.

Spencer Cook and Royer also had RBI singles.

STAPLES CROSSING SWEEPS NOBLE: Nick Gardner hit a two-run double during a four-run first inning for Staples Crossing (6-0) in a 6-2 victory against Noble (0-5) in the opening game of a Zone 5 doubleheader at South Berwick.

Aaron Ares added a pinch-hit solo home run for Staples Crossing and Eric Spear struck out six while pitching a seven-hitter to earn the win.

In the second game, Gardner hit a two-run double during an eight-run fourth inning for Staples Crossing, which held on for an 11-10 victory.

Mike Cody had three hits to pace Noble in the opener, and Ryan Fallon drove in a pair of runs in the second game.

LIBBY-MITCHELL, OA-YARMOUTH SPLIT: Jimmy Rouse had four hits and eight RBI as Libby-Mitchell (3-3) split a doubleheader with OA-Yarmouth (3-4) at Scarborough.

Will Strabley hit a three-run triple to lead OA-Yarmouth to a 9-7 win in the opener, but Libby-Mitchell won the second game 12-2 in six innings.

KENNEBUNK, MASSABESIC SPLIT: Taylor Landry struck out 13 and drove in the go-ahead run to lead Kennebunk to a 3-2 victory in the first game, but visiting Massabesic scored 10 runs in the first inning of the second game on the way to a 14-8 victory.

SACO & BIDDEFORD SAVINGS SWEEPS FAYETTE-STAPLES: Saco & Biddeford Savings (3-1) totaled 25 hits en route to 16-6 and 11-7 victories against Fayette-Staples at Biddeford.

JUNIOR LEGION

CAPE ELIZABETH SWEEPS SOUTH PORTLAND: Cape Elizabeth (4-0) had 14 hits to take a 12-6 victory over South Portland (3-4) in the opener, and Sam Kozlowski threw a five-hitter in a 3-1 win in the second game at Cape Elizabeth.

FREEPORT, FALMOUTH SPLIT: Spencer Egan pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts as Freeport (1-7) cruised to a 4-2 win over visiting Falmouth (4-4) in the first game. Falmouth won the second game, 19-2.

SANFORD 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Ethan Gouin hit an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run single in the fifth to lead Sanford (1-6) over visiting Gray-New Gloucester (4-3).

LIBBY-MITCHELL, FAYETTE-STAPLES SPLIT: Damian Ramsdell was the winning pitcher for Libby-Mitchell (2-5) in an 11-4 victory in the opener, and Alex Fallon had two doubles and three RBI to lead Fayette-Staples (4-3) to an 11-10 victory in the second game at Saco.

OA-YARMOUTH, CUMBER-LAND SPLIT: Ryan Cody hit a double and a triple and drove in three runs for OA-Yarmouth (5-4) in an 8-6 victory in the first game, and Cumberland (3-4-1) won the second game 8-7 at Yarmouth.
