Dustin Cone of Port St.Lucie, Fla. shot a final round 1-under par 71 to hold off several challengers and win the Charlie’s Portland-Maine Open golf tournament by one shot this afternoon at Riverside Golf Course in Portland.

Cone shot a 9-under 63 in the opening round to finish at 10-under 134 for the 36-hole tournament. He won $10,000. Rob Roylance, a former Old Orchard Beach High golfer, tied for second at 135 with Mark Stevens of Concord, N.H. Roylance, who lives in Orlando, Fla., had rounds of 69-66.

Ricky Jones of Thomaston won low amateur honors with rounds of 70-72. The two-day tournament had perfect weather although a steady breeze in today’s round caused some havoc with players’ shots.
