CUMBERLAND – Joe Cronin struck out 14 and walked one while pitching a one-hitter and went 3 for 4 with three RBI to lead Libby-Mitchell (13-3) to a 6-0 American Legion win at Cumberland.

Joe Davis added three hits and two runs scored for Libby-Mitchell.

NOVA SEAFOOD 5, FIRST TITLE 5: Nick DiBiase hit an RBI double to even the score for Nova Seafood (15-1-2) in the bottom of the seventh inning as it played to a tie with First Title (10-5-1) at Cheverus in a game that was called after nine innings due to darkness.

Travis Wade pitched a complete game for Nova Seafood.

He allowed just six hits while striking out 13 batters.

First Title was paced by Mick DiStasio, who had a pair of hits, including a three-run double.

SWASEY TORREY 6, SMITH TOBEY 3: Arik Fenstermacher had three hits including a double while scoring a run and driving in the game tying run in the fifth for Swasey Torrey (10-6) in a win over Smith Tobey (7-9) in Bath.

Teammate Ryan Lafleur went the distance, giving up three unearned runs on six hits while striking out 13.

STOCKHOUSE 7, MORRILL POST 3: Joe Quinlan hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and lift Stockhouse past Morrill Post (10-5) at South Portland.

Matt Weimer struck out five batters and walked three while pitching a five-hitter to earn the win for Stockhouse.

JUNIOR LEGION

SMITH TOBEY 5, LIBBY-MITCHELL 0: Zach Groat had a strong day on the mound for Smith Tobey in their win over Libby-Mitchell (5-9) in Scarborough.

Groat struck out two batters and allowed just five hits over six shutout innings while pitching his way out of a bases-loaded jam in the second for the win.

Teammate Brendan Grass had an RBI single in a three-run fourth inning.

BABE RUTH 14

SCARBOROUGH 10, WESTBROOK 0: Sam Kowlowski struck out six batters while pitching a two-hitter and added a pair of hits to lead Scarborough past Westbrook in five innings to win the District 4 championship in Westbrook.

Will Dagostino added three hits and scored three runs for Scarborough, which advances to the state tournament on Wednesday in Harrison.

Scarborough also got two hits apiece from Nick Whitten and Chris Tinsman.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE

AERO 11, PATRIOT 3: Rob Toole pitched six strong innings allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out two for Aero against Patriot (5-11) at Deering Oaks.

Travis Adams scored two runs in the win and hit a solo homer run during a six-run second inning. Patriot scored five more in the fifth.

NECBL

MAINERS 6, COLLEGIATE 3: Mike McCann went 3 for 3 with two runs scored and Michael Roth added an RBI triple and scored one run to lead Sanford (18-13) past Bristol (16-16) at Goodall Park.

Sanford starter Jim Schult gave up one earned run on three hits and struck out five batters over five innings for win.
