FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots signed offensive lineman Eric Ghiaciuc and released offensive lineman John Wise.
The team made the moves Wednesday. Ghiaciuc started 42 games in four seasons with Cincinnati, which drafted him in the fourth round in 2005. He signed with Kansas City as an unrestricted free agent after the 2008 season but was released before the next season. He signed with San Diego but was inactive for the last two games of 2009. Then he joined Cleveland on April 8 but was released June 15.
The Patriots signed Wise on April 29 as a rookie free agent from Illinois.
