PORTLAND — Gov.-elect Paul LePage answered some tough questions from students when he visited Moore Middle School this morning.

Eighth-graders invited LePage, a Republican, to visit their school as the culmination of a months-long study of state government and the recent gubernatorial election.

Students asked LePage about his stand on education spending, environmental protection and gay marriage, among other issues.

LePage said his administration will put people before politics and seek prosperity for Maine.
