The Tate House Museum is holding an herb sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 1270 Westbrook St.

Evergreen Cemetery party
The Friends of Evergreen Cemetery will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a party from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave.
Corinne Martin will lead an herb walk at 9 a.m. Portland Mayor Nicholas Mavodones will unveil a new visitors sign at 10 a.m. There will also be a Civil War walking tour at 10:30 a.m. with Janet Morelli and David Little, beginning at the cemetery office.
There will be a birthday cake, and live music with John Dana will begin at noon at the Wilde Memorial Chapel.
Riverton book, plant sale
Riverton Elementary School and Community Center is holding a plant and used book sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday on Forest Avenue.

STANDISH
Lifeguard training course
Saint Joseph’s College will offer a lifeguard training course from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 4, 5, 11 and 12 at the Harold Alfond Center. Qualifying participants will receive American Red Cross lifeguard training, first aid and CPR certifications.

Preview of senior games
Maine Senior Games is offering people ages 45 to 100 an opportunity to try different sports without the pressure of competition.
Explore Maine Senior Games will be held from noon to 4 p.m. June 5 at Scarborough High School.
Participants will be able to try track and field, horseshoes, hot shot and foul shooting, women’s softball, archery, tennis and triathlon. The rain date is June 12. The cost is $10.

Shaker Village opens Friday
Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village on Route 26 will open for the season at 10 a.m. Friday.
