Chef to prepare special dinner for Italian Life Expo

Pino Di Cicco, chef/owner of Antica Osteria Da Divo in Sienna, Tuscany, will prepare a special dinner at the Quimby Colony at 8 p.m. June 9 as part of the Italian Life Expo celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification.

The chef will prepare a four-course meal paired with regional Italian wines. He’ll use meat and produce from local providers, including Farmers’ Gate Market, Harbor Fish Market, Micucci’s Grocery and Market Fresh Produce.

The Quimby Colony is at 769 Congress St. Tickets are $135.

The Italian Life Expo, which runs June 9-11, will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. June 9 at the Ocean Gateway Terminal hosted by Giuseppe Pastorelli, consul general at the Italian Consulate in Boston. For more information or to order tickets, visit italianlifeexpo.com.

Festival to bring food, wine to Kennebunkport

With dinners in private homes and food events in area restaurants, the Kennebunkport Festival kicks off the summer season in fine fashion.

The weeklong event started yesterday and continues through Sunday. Many of the dinners in local residences have already sold out. However, tickets are still available for numerous events, including the Pop the Kennebunks wine event Thursday night ($60), Friday night’s Oysters & Pearls at Nonantum Resort ($60) and Saturday’s Grand Tasting at the Colony Hotel ($40), Brews & Tunes ($25) and the Last Call after-party ($20).

Dunkin’ Donuts to give away free doughnuts Friday
