Woodard & Curran promoted the following people in its Portland office:

Amy Wallace of Portland was promoted to project engineer 1; David Bouffard of Biddeford to project engineer 2; Denise Cameron of Westbrook to project manager 1; Gillian Wood of Bangor to project engineer 2; Joshua Ayers of Westbrook to a engineer 3; and Karen Moore of Portland to project scientist 1. Michael Langelier was promoted to project engineer 1; Nicholas Champagne of Yarmouth to engineer 2; Peter Martin of Portland to project engineer 2; Robert Polys of Scarborough to engineer 3; Scott Boone of Gray to project technical specialist 2; Scott Hawk of North Yarmouth to senior project engineer; and Shawn Huber of South Portland to engineer 2. 

New England Medical Transcription in Woolwich announced the following promotions:

Linda Sullivan of Woolwich was named chief executive officer. She was previously president of the company.

Linda Allard was named president. She held the post of vice president of operations since 2008.

Carleen Thacker, NEMT’s quality assurance manager since 2007, was named director of operations.

April Birinyi was promoted from mentor to quality assurance manager. Birinyi has been with the company since 2009.

Lori Marchand was named manager of implementation and product development. She has been with the company since 2007, and most recently served as manager of implementation. 

Teddy Stoecklein was promoted at the VIA Agency from creative director to group creative director. Stoecklein joined the agency in 2009 and has worked with clients such as Samsung, FairPoint Communications, Maidenform, TD Bank and DuPont. 

Evelyn Blanchard was named executive director of Easter Seals Maine. Blanchard, of Scarborough, has more than 20 years of experience working with children and youth services. She held the director’s position for the past 10 years. 

Steve Garland joined Downeast Energy as an energy adviser in Windham. Garland, of Cape Elizabeth, previously worked in its Biddeford location.

Amy Beveridge, assistant news director at WMTW, was promoted to news director. Beveridge held the assistant’s post since 2008. Prior to joining Hearst Television as a producer for WPBF/West Palm Beach, she spent time with CNN, WMEX-AM, WHDH and KRCR in Redding, Calif. 

Kevin Rosenberg was promoted to general manager at Mt. Abram Resort in Lock Mills. Rosenberg, of Greenwood, was the guest services director for the past two seasons. Rosenberg will oversee all operational aspects of the Resorts business. 

Sonia Theberge was named branch manager, retail banking officer for Camden National Bank’s Lewiston office. Theberge, of Lewiston, has been with the bank since 2000 and previously served as commercial loan administrator in the Lewiston market. Before joining Camden National, she spent 15 years at Fleet Bank, now Bank of America.

NEW FACES

Gabrielle Finger joined Broadreach Public Relations as a media relations specialist. Gabrielle, of Poland, was an intern at Broadreach last summer. She is a recent graduate of University of Maine with a degree in communication. 

John Piscitelli joined the VIA Agency as a group strategy director. Prior to joining the company, he served as director of client services for Communispace Inc. in Watertown, Mass.

Dara Moss was named an associate creative director at the VIA Agency. She was previously with AKQA in Washington, D.C. 

Rick Bisson was named business development director at New England Medical Transcription in Woolwich. NEMT has also hired 25 new team members since January 2011, including transcriptionists, formatters, mentors and communications specialists. 

Lucas Cohen, a PGA Teaching Professional and creator of the Start to Finish Golf Academy, joined Poland Spring Golf Course and Resort. Cohen has several years of experience in golf instruction. 

Lydia Sherrie and Beth Etzel joined the Sylvan Learning Center in South Portland. Sherrie, of Fryeburg, was named director; and Etzel, of South Portland, was named associate center director. 

Steven Davies, David Rizzo and Paul Indorf joined the sales team of Systems Engineering in Portland. Davies is a former account executive for Sprint Nextel and has an extensive sales background. Rizzo has extensive experience in the VAR technology industry and was a former owner of Asys Technology Group in Massachusetts. Indorf, formerly with Planson International, has 14 years of IT sales experience to the team. 

Steve Poulos joined HeadInvest as a vice president and portfolio manager. Poulos has more than 25 years of investment management experience. He has held positions as a stock analyst, chief of trust investments at Maine National Bank, and portfolio manager with several investment advisory firms in Baltimore and Portland.

Heidi Jacques joined Northeast Bank as vice president and director of human resources. Jacques, of Auburn, was previously with ING in Lewiston, where she worked as a senior human resources business partner. 

Wayne J. Yee, DDS, recently opened a dental practice at 1250 Forest Ave. in Portland. Yee previously practiced in Manhattan, N.Y. for nearly 20 years. His practice includes general dentistry, dental aesthetics and dental oncology. 

Robert H. Farnham joined Willis of Northern New England, Inc. as an employee benefits account executive. Farnham, of Falmouth, has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Willis, he helped a local health plan develop a cost containment program for the commercial market. 

John Tanguay joined Sanford Institution for Savings as a vice president, commercial lender. Tanguay was previously a commercial lender at another financial institution. 

Earl Adams joined Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty as a real estate broker in the York County market. Adams, of Kennebunk, has been a broker and developer in Maine for almost 40 years. 

Elyse Tipton joined The Center for Grieving Children as its new development director. Tipton has several years of experience working in senior-level development and marketing communications positions with state and national organizations in Washington, D.C., and Maine. Most recently, she was communications director for Maine Audubon Society.

Sarah Brennick joined KPI Direct, an integrated direct marketing and brand management agency in Portland, as a customer experience analyst. Brennick was most recently with TD Bank as a direct banking team leader. 

AWARDS

Dawna Hannan, director of customer satisfaction, regulatory affairs and human resources at Oxford Networks, recently celebrated her 30th anniversary with the company. Hannan, of Greene, is president of the Telephone Association of New England and is a member of the board of directors for the Telephone Association of Maine. Hannan is also chair of the State of Maine E-911 Advisory Council. 

Reed & Reed was recognized earlier this month with the prestigious SHARP award, which recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. 

Kristine Avery, senior vice president of human resources at FISC Solutions, was recently inducted into the Maine HR Hall of Fame by the Maine Society of Human Resource Management State Council. Avery, of Windham, is currently the director of the SHRM Maine State Council, the Maine representative for the SHRM Northeast Regional Council, and immediate past-president of the Human Resources Association of Southern Maine. 

Artel in Westbrook was recognized as the Maine International Trade Center’s 2011 Innovator of the Year. Artel manufactures precision instruments designed to enhance the quality of laboratory results through the validation of liquid handling equipment. The company also offers extensive professional development training for laboratory professionals.
