NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – Seacoast Law and Title became the first Maine team to win a game in the Junior Legion Northeast Regional baseball tournament, beating Bristol, Conn., 4-2 in the quarterfinals Friday.

The Westbrook-based squad scored three runs in the third inning, starting with an RBI triple by Colin Joyce. Zach Bean doubled home Joyce, and Andrew McCarthy singled home Bean.

Joyce finished with four hits, including two doubles.

Seacoast tacked on an insurance run in the fifth. Cody Champagne’s double advanced Derek Bouchard to third, and Bouchard scored on a balk.

Keenan Lowe struck out seven and got out of two bases-loaded jams to earn the win for Seacoast.

Seacoast will play a semifinal game at 8 p.m. tonight. The championship game is 3 p.m. Sunday.
