FRYEBURG — Maine’s largest agricultural fair is kicking off with the lure of thousands of animals, harness racing, pig scrambles, food booths, live entertainment, exhibition halls and a midway with more than 50 rides.
This is the 161st year of the Fryeburg Fair, which begins today and runs eight days before wrapping up Oct. 9. The fair typically draws up to 300,000 people each year.
Daily tickets are $10 each, with a weekly pass going for $65.
The fair is Maine’s final agricultural fair of the season.
