It’s a Ski Season Launch Party.
Maine skiers gathered in Portland on Wednesday for a 2011 Ski Season Launch Party at the Eastland Park Hotel.

Organized by the Ski Museum of Maine and the Ski Maine Association, the gathering featured a reception with hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a collection of photos and memorabilia as well as book signings.
The Ski Museum of Maine hosts programs throughout the year to promote the state’s skiing heritage. Programs include Fireside Chats with narrated digital slideshows about the history of skiing in Maine. The Maine Ski Heritage Classic is held during February Vacation week at Sugarloaf and has become one of the museum’s signature events. The program includes a display of ski memorabilia, an on-snow display followed by a reception and auction.
