AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage and some of his top administration aides are in Quebec to meet with government and business leaders to discuss energy and economic development.

LePage spokeswoman Adrienne Bennett says the governor plans to meet today in Quebec City with Premier Jean Charest and the province’s minister of economic development, innovation and export trade and the minister of natural resources and wildlife. LePage and his staff also planned to tour the National Assembly of Quebec, the province’s legislative body.

On Friday, the governor and his advisers will visit businesses in Montreal.

The purpose of the official visit is to discuss energy issues, economic development and job creation.

Accompanying LePage are his top economic adviser, John Butera, and Maine’s director of energy independence and security, Kenneth Fletcher.
