YORK – Josh Weirich entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and nobody out and struck out the side as Freeport held on for a 5-3 win over York in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Monday.

Chris Farley had an RBI single during Freeport’s three-run second inning, and Weirich singled home a run in the third as the Falcons improved to 4-0.

Adam Bailey went 3 for 3 with a run scored for York (1-4), and Tim Connolly hit a two-run homer.

FALMOUTH 11, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Will D’Agostino’s two-run single highlighted a four-run first inning as the Yachtsmen (3-0) beat the Raiders (3-2) in a six-inning game at Fryeburg.

Nicholas Spencer pitched a four-hitter, and Seamus Powers had a single and two doubles for Falmouth.

YARMOUTH 12, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Bryce Snyder and Tom Sullivan each had two hits and three RBI as the Clippers (3-2) downed the Patriots (2-2) in six innings at Yarmouth.

Eamon Costello added three hits and two RBI for the Clippers, who broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning.

Nick Lainey struck out three while pitching a four-hitter.

POLAND 7, LAKE REGION 5: Pat Summers drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the Knights (2-3) beat the Lakers (0-4) at Poland.

Jed Quint pitched the final six innings for Poland, allowing one run.

Dakota Bush had two hits and a pair of RBI for Lake Region.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 9, WAYNFLETE 3: Dan Bonneau knocked in two runs as the Seagulls (2-2) beat the Flyers (2-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

Jimmy Strohm got the win, scattering four hits over 61/3 innings.

Peter Stein had a pair of hits for Waynflete.

MORSE 7, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Aaron Barrett allowed two hits through six innings as the Shipbuilders (4-0) beat the Eagles (3-1) at Newcastle.

Barrett recorded nine strikeouts and walked three.

Zach Groat hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give the Shipbuilders a 4-0 lead.

GARDINER 9, MEDOMAK VALLEY 1: Aaron Toman drove in three runs as the Tigers (4-2) beat the Panthers (2-2) in Gardiner.

Toman’s two-run single helped Gardiner take a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Brandon Chaput and Dennis Meehan each scored twice and drove in a run.

Isaac Greenrose had three hits for Medomak.

WINTHROP 8, BOOTHBAY REGION 6: Tyler Reeve doubled home the first two runs as the Ramblers (2-1) opened a 5-0 first-inning lead and held off the Seahawks (0-3) at Boothbay Harbor.

Julian Aponte and Wyatt Anthony each had two hits for Boothbay.

CONY 5, BRUNSWICK 1: Winning pitcher Zach Lachance had a pair of doubles and scored three runs to lead the Rams past the Dragons (0-6) at Brunswick.

Lachance struck out six, allowed just three hits, and walked one.

Taylor Carrier had an RBI single for Cony.

ERSKINE 4, MT. ARARAT 0: Shyler Scates pitched a three-hitter to lead Erskine (3-2) to a win at Topsham.

Scates struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.

YORK 12, WAYNFLETE 11: Shane Hughes scored his fifth goal of the game at 1:01 of overtime to give the Warriors (2-0) a win over the Flyers (0-3) at York.

Kyle Robinson finished with five goals and four assists, including assists on both the winning goal and the tying goal by Sam Rickerich with 2:29 left in regulation.

Henry Cleaves led the Flyers with four goals, and Zander Majerick added three.

FALMOUTH 13, PORTLAND 4: Rich Tapley finished with five goals and three assists, and Hunter Lafond added four goals for the Yachtsmen (3-1) against the Bulldogs (2-3) at Portland.
