WESTBROOK – Kyle Heath scored from second base on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Westbrook a 4-3 win over Portland in an SMAA baseball game Saturday.

Portland (5-6) tied the game with three runs in the top of the seventh, but Heath led off the bottom of half with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice. Derek Bouchard was intentionally walked, and Zach Bean followed with a grounder behind second base that nearly resulted in a double play, but the throw to first was wide as Heath raced home for the winning run.

Bean struck out six and allowed six hits for the win.

Westbrook (10-2) went up 3-0 after three innings on RBIs by Colin Joyce, Keenan Lowe and Austin Blake.

Joe Apon, Kyle Reichert and Travis Godbout each drove in a run for Portland in the top of the seventh.

SCARBOROUGH 4, WINDHAM 2: Nick Bagley drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run double as the Red Storm (11-0) scored three runs in the fifth to rally past the Eagles (10-2) at Scarborough.

Scarborough’s Ben Greenberg struck out seven and walked three while throwing a three-hitter.

BONNY EAGLE 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: South Portland (5-7) scored twice in the top of the fifth, but the Scots (4-7) answered with three in the bottom half to earn a win at Standish.

After Drake Laughlin tied the game with a two-run double, Eric Dennison ran for Laughlin. South Portland catcher Adam Helmke attempted to pick him off but threw the ball into center field, allowing Dennison to score from second.

South Portland opened the scoring when Joe DiBiase laid down a squeeze bunt with runners on second and third. Scots pitcher T.J. Petterson overthrew the first baseman, allowing both runners to score.

BIDDEFORD 3, MASSABESIC 0: Patrick Wilson finished with eight strikeouts and one walk while throwing a one-hitter for the Tigers (4-8) in a win over the Mustangs (2-10) at Biddeford.

Biddeford scored a pair of runs on errors in the fourth inning, and Matt Cote added an RBI double in the sixth.

CHEVERUS 5, KENNEBUNK 2: Drew Ferrick’s single in the sixth inning drove home the go-ahead run for the Stags (7-5) against the Rams (3-9) at Portland.

With Cheverus trailing 2-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Mitchell Powers led off with a single. Ryan Casale followed with a single that got past the right fielder, allowing Powers to score. Ferrick knocked in Casale for a 3-2 lead before the Stags added a pair of insurance runs with the help of two Kennebunk errors.

Kennebunk pitcher Nick Emmons had two hits with an RBI and a run scored.

MARSHWOOD 12, SANFORD 2: Noah McDaniel had a home run and three RBI as the Hawks (11-1) downed the Spartans (4-7) in six innings at South Berwick.

Zack Quintal added three RBI on three hits, including a triple and a double, and Max McCoomb also had three RBI with two singles and a double.

Cody Moody homered for Sanford.

TRAIP ACADEMY 11, SACOPEE VALLEY 10: The Rangers (4-9) scored three runs in the top of the eighth to defeat the Hawks (5-8) at South Hiram.

Kyle Jordan had a single and a double for Sacopee Valley.

WESTBROOK 16, BONNY EAGLE 7: Sam Carroll finished with six goals and two assists, and Nick Tremblay scored four times as the Blue Blazes (6-3) downed the Scots (2-8) at Westbrook.

Ben Grant added three goals and three assists, and Tyler Jack scored twice.

NYA 11, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Eliot Wellenbach scored three goals and assisted on a fourth to lead the Panthers (6-3) over the Golden Trojans (6-4) in Yarmouth.
