The First Universalist Church of Auburn has awarded two 2013 Rose Window honors to longtime members whose efforts have made a significant impact on their church. This annual award was recently given to Jim and Diane Chaplin of Auburn and David and Nina Lindley, formerly of Auburn.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has announced two school appointments.

Patricia Berthiaume becomes the new principal of St. John Catholic School at 37 Pleasant St., Brunswick, effective June 28. She has been a principal in the Diocese of Portland since 1994 and has been principal of Holy Cross School in Lewiston and at St. James Catholic School in Biddeford. Berthiaume holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Keene, N.H., State College and a master’s degree in educational administration from Rivier University in Nashua, N.H.

Wayne Zimmerman of Turner has been named the new advancement director at Saint Dominic Academy in Auburn beginning July 1. He has been director of advancement services at Bates College in Lewiston since 2008 and spent 30 years in the manufacturing field. He holds an associate of applied science degree from the State University of New York at Alfred.
