WINDHAM — Investigators still have not determined a cause of a fire that started Tuesday night in a home on Finley Road in Windham.
Firefighters were called to 40 Finley Road at 11 p.m. Tuesday and found heavy fire.
They worked over the next few hours to extinguish the fire but were called back to the scene at 4 a.m. when the fire flared up again, a fire official said.
Firefighters remained at the scene until about noon Wednesday.
The fire badly damaged the house, though it was still standing.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
Access to water was difficult and firefighters from Gorham, Falmouth, Standish, Gray, Raymond and Westbrook assisted in fighting the fire.
