Forecasters say another snowstorm is headed for Maine, and this one could snarl both the morning and evening commutes on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a winter storm warning from early in the morning Wednesday until early evening.

The snowstorm is expected to begin between 6 and 7 a.m. Wednesday in the Portland area, weather service meteorologist Mike Cempa said late Tuesday night.

He said the storm would leave between 8 and 12 inches of snow throughout the Portland region and York County before ending around 5 p.m.

Cempa said the snow should be light, with little chance for there to be any mixing of rain or sleet.

High temperatures for Wednesday will reach into the middle to upper 20s, he said.

The weather service is predicting difficult driving conditions and reduced visibility with winds between 10 and 15 mph.

Parking bans already have been declared in Yarmouth, Falmouth and Freeport from Wednesday morning until Thursday morning.
