SANFORD — Kevin Kezal emerged with the 100th victory of his high school football coaching career Friday night as Thornton Academy rolled to a 48-7 victory against Sanford.

Michael Laverriere rushed for five touchdowns for the Golden Trojans (4-0) against the Spartans (2-2).

DEERING 28, MASSABESIC 20: Patrick Viola hauled in a 25-yard scoring pass from Max Chabot on a third-and-21 play with six seconds left as Deering (1-3) rallied past Massabesic (1-3) at Portland.

Massabesic was leading 14-7 and driving deep into Deering territory in the third quarter when Jacob Coon returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-14.

The Mustangs regained the lead later in the quarter on a 20-yard touchdown run by Jesse Hall, followed by a missed PAT to make to 20-14.

The Rams tied it on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Chabot to Raff Salamon.

Chabot passed for three touchdowns, including a 20-yard pass to Coon in the first quarter.

BIDDEFORD 21, LEWISTON 20: Capen Macomber rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns, and the Tigers (3-1) held on to beat the Blue Devils (0-4) at Lewiston.

Biddeford overcame a 12-8 halftime deficit with 13 points in the third quarter, when Macomber and Lucas Rhoy rushed for scores.

FALMOUTH 42, OCEANSIDE 12: Connor Aube rushed for 172 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns in the second half as the Yachtsmen (3-1) pulled away from a 14-6 halftime lead to beat the Mariners (0-4) at Falmouth.

Falmouth outscored Oceanside 21-6 in the third quarter on two touchdowns by Aube and a TD pass from Noah Nelson to Cal Inlow.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 34, CAPE ELIZABETH 6: Peter Theriault rushed for a 57-yard TD on the first play for the Phoenix (4-0), then threw for two scores to Andrew Darling late in the first half against the Capers (2-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Nate Weare rushed for 109 yards for the Capers.

BRUNSWICK 34, SKOWHEGAN 21: Alex Bandouveres ran for 165 yards as Brunswick (4-0) beat the Indians (2-2) at Skowhegan.
