WINDHAM — A three-car crash on Route 302 sent two people, including a 2-year-old girl, to the hospital Monday morning.

A Ford Ranger, driven by Robert Backiel, 40, of Windham, had stopped on the busy road and was waiting to turn left onto Mineral Springs Road when it was hit from behind by a Toyota Tundra driven by Aston Grant, 35, of Scarborough, police said.

The crash pushed the Ranger into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet Malibu driven by Efren Velez, 60, of Naples, police said.

Two of Velez’s passengers were injured in the crash, Hannah Bowden, 2, and Barbara Velez, 70. Neither person’s injuries were life-threatening, police said.

Nobody was charged in the incident, which occurred about 8:30 a.m.
