The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run on Route 11 that injured a 16-year-old girl.

According to the sheriff’s office, the girl was walking along Route 11 in Limington near the intersection with River Road when a northbound car hit her around 5:30 p.m. and threw her into a ditch. The vehicle, believed to be a pickup truck or SUV, continued on.

The girl was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Her injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office said it is looking for a 2007 to 2012 model GMC, Chevrolet SUV or Cadillac Escalade that is missing a right-side mirror. It probably also has right side or front-end damage, and the right headlight may be out.

Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 324-3644.
