GM recalls vehicles, citing possible headlight failure

General Motors has recalled 316,357 Buick, Chevy, GMC, Saab and Isuzu vehicles for a possible low-beam headlight failure.

The affected models, most of them in the U.S., are 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans and certain 2006-2008 SUVs under the Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender names.

The headlights and daytime running lamps in these vehicles could temporarily or permanently fail to illuminate.

They can have cookies shipped directly to your doorstep. More than 1 million scouts were expected to opt in as cookie-selling season cranks up this month and the scouting organization gets digital sales underway.

U.S. stock market slumps for second straight day

U.S. stocks fell for a second day as weaker data on Black Friday sales and China manufacturing overshadowed a rebound in oil and expansion in American factories.

The S&P 500 fell 0.7 percent to 2,053.44 at 4 p.m. in New York. The Dow Jones industrial average slumped 51.44 points, or 0.3 percent, to 17,776.8. The technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 index lost 1.2 percent.
