A Cornish man faces felony domestic assault charges after he allegedly hit and tried to stab his girlfriend early Friday morning.

York County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 39 High Road at 2:45 a.m. for a report of a fight between a man and a woman. They found Eric Borgeson-Amico, 25, standing at the driver’s door of a vehicle with his girlfriend in the driver’s seat crying. She had visible injuries on her face, head and neck.

Borgeson-Amico was upset because he believed she was seeing someone else. He pushed the woman into a wall and lunged at her with a butcher knife, causing a small cut to her chest, the sheriff’s office said. He then held the knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, the sheriff said. He then ordered her to drive him to the house of the person he believed she was having a relationship with, but she refused and that is when deputies arrived.

Deputies charged Borgeson-Amico with aggravated assault and kidnapping. He is being held at York County Jail and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday.
