Kyle Halvorsen scored with six seconds left in the first period Saturday night, and South Portland-Freeport-Waynflete went on to a 1-0 victory against Massabesic-Bonny Eagle-Old Orchard Beach in a schoolboy hockey game at the Portland Ice Arena.

Halvorsen intercepted a pass in the slot, beat one defender, then sent the puck high into the net with a stick-side shot.

Joe Grant earned the shutout with 18 saves. Matt Bridges had 22 stops for Massabesic-Bonny Eagle-Old Orchard Beach.

SCARBOROUGH 2, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Skylar Pettingill scored from Kyle Jacques 3:18 into the third period to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Red Storm (4-2) over the Red Eddies (3-3) at Saco.

Edward Little took the lead three minutes into the game when Dixon Dilodovico scored from Cody Woodward. Cam Nigro tied it 2:55 into the second period.

Devin Dumont finished with 27 saves for Edward Little. Ben Bragg stopped 18 shots for Scarborough.

KENNEBUNK 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: James Ross scored a power-play goal with an assist from Jack Graydon with 3:15 left to lift the Rams (6-0) over the Capers (3-4) at Portland.

Kennebunk took the lead 1:10 into the game when Kyle Mooney scored from Ross. The Capers tied it 6:21 into the third on a goal by Ben Shea from Ben Ekedhal and Matt Riggle.

Mike LeBlanc made 27 saves to earn the win.

Ross LeBlond finished with 30 saves for Cape Elizabeth.

LAWRENCE/SKOWHEGAN 10, POLAND/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/OAK HILL 2: Cody Martin had four goals and two assists as the Bandits (1-3-1) beat the 26ers (2-3) at Auburn.

Andrew Carpenter added a goal and four assists, and Trey Michonski scored twice for Lawrence-Skowhegan.

Ethan Caillier had both goals for the 26ers.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

MEDOMAK VALLEY 56, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 50: Nicholas DePatsy had 23 points, 12 rebounds and five assists to lead Medomak Valley (6-1) over the Phoenix (3-4) at Jay.

The game was tied 23-23 at halftime before Medomak Valley went on a 17-11 run in the third quarter.

DePatsy had seven points in the third. Micah Williamson finished with 19 points, and Cameron Allaire had nine rebounds and five blocks for the Panthers.

MASSABESIC 59, BIDDEFORD 48: Massabesic (1-5) was 21 of 24 from the foul line and defeated the Tigers (1-6) at Biddeford.

Dan Amabile led the Mustangs with 22 points, 11 in the fourth quarter, and was 10 of 11 from the foul line.

Wes Bergeron finished with 16 points for Massabesic. Alex Millett led the Tigers with 21.

MORSE 74, LEAVITT 49: Ethan Winglass scored 18 points and Keegan McDonough added 17 as Morse (6-1) defeated Leavitt (3-4) at Bath.

GARDINER 64, CAMDEN HILLS 42: Brandon Douglas scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Tigers (6-1) over Camden Hills (2-5) at Gardiner.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

CAMDEN HILLS 52, GARDINER 48: Charlotte Messer and Maddie Bowman each scored 16 points to lead the Windjammers (6-1) over Gardiner (3-4) at Rockport.

MARANACOOK 46, LINCOLN ACADEMY 44: Christine Miller had six points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Black Bears (6-1) over the Eagles (5-2) at Readfield.
