Amtrak’s Downeaster train service from Brunswick to Boston is canceled because of snow removal.

Amtrak says the rail service is suspended all day Tuesday. The train normally runs daily roundtrip service from Portland to Boston, with two extended trips to Freeport and Brunswick.

Concord Coach Lines is operating on a regular schedule between its stops in Maine and Boston.

Other transportation services in the state are returning to normal. Portland International Jetport reports scattered delays, but most flights are on time. Bangor International Airport reports a normal schedule. Maine Department of Transportation spokesman Ted Talbot says state roads are “in very good shape” and the state has removed speed limit reductions.

The snow has hit Maine hard this season, with the Portland area getting about 74 inches so far.

Elsewhere in New England, Amtrak says it is operating on a modified schedule.

Amtrak said Tuesday that passengers with reservations on Northeast Regional or Acela Express trains should check the status of the trains before leaving for stations.

Amtrak’s shuttle service between Springfield, Massachusetts, and New Haven, Connecticut, was on a reduced schedule.

Trains were running on a regular schedule between New York City and Washington but Amtrak said delays were possible.
