AUGUSTA — Nick Gilpin scored 20 points to lead No. 2 Hampden Academy past No. 7 Brunswick 63-46 in an Eastern Maine Class A semifinal Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Jack Black knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 15 points for Hampden Academy, which improves to 17-2 and advances to play No. 3 Messalonskee in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Augusta.

Brunswick ends the season 9-10.

Thomas Hanson finished with 10 points for Brunswick, while Alex Bandouveres added nine.

Medomak Valley 60, MCI 39: Nick DePatsy scored 28 points, including 12 in the second quarter, as the Panthers cruised to an Eastern B boys’ quarterfinal win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

No. 1 Medomak Valley improves to (17-2) and advances to play No. 12 MDI in the semifinals at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday in Bangor. No. 8 MCI ends the season 13-6.

MESSALONSKEE 58, OXFORD HILLS 42: Nick Mayo scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the No. 3 Eagles (14-5) beat the Vikings (10-9) in an Eastern A quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center.

Messalonskee advances to play No. 2 Hampden Academy in the semifinals on Wednesday.

Mayo scored 19 points in the first half as Messalonskee built a 28-18 lead.

Most of those points came in the paint, including three baskets in a 10-0 run that put the Eagles up by 14 late in the second quarter.

HYDE 64, SEARSPORT 41: Keifer Cundy scored 18 points to lead the third-seeded Phoenix (15-4) past the sixth-seeded Vikings (14-6) in a Western Class D quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center.

Andrew Palermo scored in 14 points and Antoine Montgomery added 13 for the Phoenix, who led by 15 after the first quarter and 20 at halftime.

Eric Phillips led Searsport with 14 points.

Hyde advances to play Valley in the semifinals at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Augusta Civic Center.

GIRLS

CAMDEN HILLS 49, OCEANSIDE 45: Charlotte Messer scored 16 points and made 3 of 4 free throws in the last 25 seconds as the fourth-seeded Windjammers (15-5) edged the fifth-seeded Mariners (14-6) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal in Bangor.

Rachel Pease added 12 points, including two key baskets late in the fourth quarter after Oceanside erased an eight-point deficit. Maddie Bowman chipped in with 10 points.

Kaylin Grover paced Oceanside with 14 points.

Makenna Brooks finished with 11.
