Lake Region’s Kate Hall broke two New England records while winning the 55-meter dash and the long jump Friday night at the New England indoor track and field championships in Boston.

Hall won the 55 with a time of 6.95 seconds, just .02 seconds off the best time in the nation this year. In the long jump, she twice improved on her national No. 1 ranking – first with a jump of 20 feet, 2 inches in the trials, followed by 20-6 in the finals.

Hall finished more than two feet ahead of her closest competitor in the long jump. Tori Daigle of Thornton Academy placed third in 18-03/4.

Alyssa Coyne of Greely set a personal best while finishing fifth in the shot put with a throw of 40-03/4.

Top performers among Maine boys were Deering’s Hany Ramadan, who placed third in the 600 (1:22.34), and Jake Dixon of Cheverus, who was fourth in the 300 (35.66).
