Portland police charged a South Portland school bus driver Wednesday with not giving a bicyclist enough room on the road.

Leon Spear was cited after police reviewed video from the bicyclist, who was wearing a helmet camera at the time. Spear was cited under a law requiring drivers to be at least 3 feet away when passing bicyclists.

The incident happened about 7 a.m. Wednesday on Deering Avenue, near King Middle School, according to a news release from the Portland Police Department.
