AUGUSTA — Republican Gov. Paul LePage is heading to eastern Maine this week as he continues his tour to tout his tax plan.

LePage will hold town hall meeting at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The event is being held in the Walsh Wing conference room.

On Wednesday, LePage will travel to Machias for another town hall at the Rose M. Gaffney Middle School at 6 p.m.

Both events are open to the public. Residents will get a chance to ask the governor about his proposal in the state budget to cut the income tax and eliminate the estate tax and tax on military pensions.

LePage has also introduced a measure to amend Maine’s constitution to abolish the income tax in 2020.
