An early-afternoon fire on Munjoy Hill on Friday started on a third-floor porch but never got inside the three-unit apartment building.
The fire at 56 Congress St. spread to the second-floor porch, then was extinguished, said city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin.
She said the fire department is investigating the cause.
