SOUTH PORTLAND — Brittany Roy dropped down a one-out bunt to drive in Brook Davis from third base in the ninth inning Wednesday as Biddeford downed South Portland 9-8 in an SMAA softball game.

Davis opened the inning with her second triple of the game. Alex Chase added a pair of singles for Biddeford (11-1).

Sarah Micucci had three hits with two RBI for South Portland (8-4), Abby Young had a solo homer in the sixth and a double, and Kaitlin Bouchard added a triple and double with three RBI.

LAKE REGION 15, FREEPORT 1: Allison Morse knocked in five runs on two doubles and a single as Lake Region (6-7) rolled past the Falcons (0-11) in six innings at Freeport.

Kaylyn Lorrain tacked on three runs with a single, double and homer, and Ashley Clark brought in two with a single, double and triple.

THORNTON ACADEMY 14, MARSHWOOD 2: Maizee Lee had three hits, including a two-run homer in a six-run first inning as the Golden Trojans (10-2) cruised past the Hawks (5-7) in six innings at Saco.

Kaylee Burns was 3 for 3 with a pair of triples and an RBI, and Libby Pomerleau reached base three times and scored twice for Thornton.

Bailey Trembley got the win, going six innings, allowing a pair of runs while allowing four hits, striking out eight and walking none.

SCARBOROUGH 13, CHEVERUS 0: Eight of the nine starters recorded hits as the Red Storm (11-0) used a 17-hit offense to defeat the Stags (1-11) in five innings at Scarborough.

Sophia Burnham, Ashley Gleason and Chloe Gorey each had three hits for Scarborough. Gorey finished with a pair of RBI.

Chloe Griffin got her first win of the season, going four innings, scattering four singles, striking out five and walking one.

SANFORD 12, DEERING 0: Jen Jones pitched a one-hit shutout and hit a three-run homer during an eight-run second inning to lead Sanford (10-2) against the Rams (2-11) in five innings at Portland.

Abbie Blouin stroked an RBI triple and scored as the Spartans increased their lead to 11-0 with three runs in the third. A final run in the fifth ended it.

Jones struck out 12 of the 17 batters she faced, allowing one walk and a double to Siobhan Densmore.

YARMOUTH 8, FALMOUTH 2: Mari Cooper struck out 10, walked one, and gave up four hits and two unearned runs to lead the Clippers (10-2) over Falmouth (7-5) at Yarmouth.

Cali Hutchinson delivered a two-run homer in the fourth inning for Yarmouth.

YORK 7, WELLS 1: Kendall Carr singled home Olivia Coughlin before scoring on Sophia Stephens’ base hit, giving the Wildcats (11-0) a 2-0 first-inning lead against Wells (4-9) at York.

Stephanie Rundlett pitched a two-hitter for York, also contributing two hits and two RBI.

MESSALONSKEE 12, BRUNSWICK 0: Madisyn Charest threw a perfect game in her varsity debut as Messalonskee (10-2) beat Brunswick (1-11) in five innings at Oakland.

LACROSSE

MORSE 14, OXFORD HILLS 6: Sophie Sreden notched her 100th career goal with the first of her three scores as the Shipbuilders (5-3) downed Oxford Hills (2-6) at Bath.

Paige Daigle led Morse with five goals; Nora Sreden added three goals and an assist. Amber Jenkins scored three times for the Vikings.

GREELY 14, GOULD ACADEMY 10: Courtney Sullivan had three goals and two assists to pace Greely (2-4) past the Huskies (4-4) at Cumberland.

Mae Dougherty, Ellie Schad and Nettie Cunningham finished with three goals apiece for the Rangers. Shannon Maguire led Gould with three goals.
