A convenience store on Spring Street in Westbrook was robbed Saturday night for the second time in six months, police said.

The robbery at Art’s Variety occurred about 9:15 pm.

Police described the robber as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 190 pounds with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing khaki pants and a black hooded jacket and had a black bandanna covering his face, police said.

No weapon was shown during the robbery and the robber made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

He was last seen entering a black four-door vehicle that was parked on the Glenwood Avenue side of the store, and it was driven from the scene down that street. The vehicle may have had a vanity license plate, police said.

Police released a surveillance photo of the robber.

Anyone with any information about the robbery is asked to call Westbrook police 854-0644 or the Anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 591-8117.
