WINDHAM — Josh Dugas singled home Tanner Laberge with one out in the bottom the eighth inning to lift Windham to a 2-1 win over Thornton Academy in an SMAA baseball game Friday.

Thornton (10-4) scored on an error in the top of the first. Windham (7-7) tied it in the third on an RBI single by Tyler Johnson, driving home Mitchell Eskilson.

Tanner Bernier finished with four strikeouts and one walk while tossing a four-hitter for the Eagles.

Thornton starter Ben Lambert scattered eight hits, struck out seven and walked three.

GORHAM 4, CHEVERUS 2: Jordan Ward hit a two-run single during a three-run second inning, and Cam Smith struck out eight in 52/3 innings as the Rams (7-8) beat the Stags (9-5) in Gorham.

KENNEBUNK 2, GREELY 1: Ben Lary struck out two and walked two while throwing a six-hitter and also accounted for both runs for the Rams (10-5) as they edged the Rangers (11-4) at Cumberland.

Lary hit an RBI single in the first inning, then stole home on a double steal to give the Rams a 2-0 lead.

Greely’s Will Bryant doubled and scored in the second.

Kennebunk got a pair of hits from Kip Richard. Justin Leeman hit two singles for Greely.

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, WELLS 1: Tim Brigham had a pair of hits, including a two-run double during a four-run third inning, and the Capers (10-5) pulled away from the Warriors (9-6) at Cape Elizabeth.

Dylan Roberts added an RBI single and Aaron Dobieski doubled home a run during the big rally. The Capers added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Bryce Hewitt earned the win in his first start of the season, giving up one run on three hits while striking out three and walking one over five innings.

Dan Quint finished with three hits for Wells.

FALMOUTH 11, YARMOUTH 1: Connor Aube went 2 for 2 with four runs scored, two RBI and four stolen bases for the Yachtsmen (9-6) as they downed the Clippers (8-7) in five innings at Falmouth.

Falmouth broke the game open with a six-run second inning, highlighted by Cal Inlow’s two-run double and Aube’s two-run triple.

Colby Emmertz and Tyler Gee also had two hits apiece for Falmouth. Starting pitcher Reece Armitage gave up one hit over 31/3 scoreless innings.

YORK 13, LAKE REGION 3: Cole Merritt and Sam Johnson each hit a two-run single as the Wildcats (12-3) scored six runs in the first inning on the way to a five-inning win over the Lakers (4-11) at York.

Matthew Pratt was 2 for 5 with five RBI.

Trevor LaBonte picked up the win, allowing three runs on three hits. He struck out six and walked three.

BELFAST 7, MEDOMAK VALLEY 4: Alex Canning lined an RBI double and scored on a single by Sam Kulikowski as the Lions (10-5) used a three-run fifth inning to pull away from the Panthers at Belfast.

Nick DePatsy was 2 for 4 for Medomak Valley. Ollie Brown hit a two-run homer in the top of the first.

FREEPORT 13, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Caleb Rice allowed one hit over the first four innings and Colby Wagner pitched a perfect fifth as Freeport (7-8) earned a mercy-rule win over the Seagulls (6-9) in Old Orchard Beach.

Wagner drove in two runs with a pair of hits and scored three runs. Caiden Shea had three hits and three RBI.

OCEANSIDE 3, ERSKINE ACADEMY 1: The Mariners (13-2) scored three unearned runs in the fourth inning and Nick Mazurek made them stand up in a win over the Eagles (9-6) in South China.

Mazurek pitched a four-hitter, struck out five and walking none.

LACROSSE

CAPE ELIZABETH 14, YARMOUTH 5: Owen Thoreck scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the Capers (10-1) over the Clippers (8-3) in Yarmouth.

Cape led 6-3 after three quarters before pulling away in the fourth. RJ Sarka added two goals and an assist, and James Bottomley, Connor Thoreck and Cole Caswell each finished with two goals.

Bill Jacobs scored twice for Yarmouth.

WESTBROOK 13, WINDHAM 8: Grayson Post scored four goals and Noah Oliver added three as the Blue Blazes (8-3) beat the Eagles (7-4) in Windham.

Zack Callahan netted three goals for Windham. Griffin Jacobson contributed two goals and two assists.

THORNTON ACADEMY 14, GORHAM 6: Zach Bryant compiled five goals and three assists as the Trojans (9-2) beat the Rams (8-3) at Saco.

CHEVERUS 20, MARSHWOOD 3: Tom Lawson had five goals to pace the Stags (6-5) against the Hawks (1-10) at South Berwick.

Troy Stevens scored all three goals for Marshwood.

DEERING 17, NOBLE 7: Andrew Johnson had five goals and an assist to lead the Rams (4-7) over the Knights (3-7) in Portland.

Sambath Sao and Max Hornblower each added three goals and an assist.

OAK HILL 10, CAMDEN HILLS 4: Alex Mace had three goals and an assist to lead the Raiders (4-7) to a win over the Windjammers (5-7) in Rockport.

Calvin Cameron scored twice for Camden Hills.

MESSALONSKEE 14, MT. ARARAT 6: Dylan Burton scored a pair of goals and assisted on four others to power Messalonskee (7-4) past Mt. Ararat (4-7) in Topsham.
