The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor was awarded a $25 million contract to supply research animals and other support to the U.S. Army.

The contract, which is a firm-fixed-price federal contract of up to $25 million, will support basic research efforts of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases and other Department of Defense agencies. It was announced Thursday.

The research will be conducted by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity in Frederick, Maryland.
