The Maine State Police were investigating a report of a man stabbed in the chest at an East Pittston address Saturday evening, but few details were released.

Police were sent to a home at 1135 East Pittston Ave. about 6:19 p.m., according to an emergency alert. The alert said a man had suffered a stab wound to the chest, the suspect had fled the scene and troopers were en route to the building.

Police were seen investigating at that home, an apartment building in East Pittston, after the report.

Details on the case were not immediately available. Lt. Brian Harris, a spokesman for the state police, referred questions to the Maine Attorney General’s Office Saturday night. Tim Feeley, a spokesman for Attorney General Janet Mills, said he had no details on the incident.
