ALTOONA, Pa. — Tim Roberson cracked a two-run homer in the seventh inning, Aaron Wilkerson pitched seven innings of four-hit ball, and the Portland Sea Dogs kicked off a six-game trip with a 2-1 victory over the Altoona Curve in front of 5,107 at Peoples Natural Gas Field on Tuesday night.

Making his third start since a promotion from Class A Salem, Wilkerson (1-1) struck out four and walked none, limiting Altoona to a first-inning run. He helped the Sea Dogs win for just the 10th time in 71 games in which they’ve scored fewer than four runs.

Adam Frazier started the home first with a single to right. He stole second with one out and advanced on a throwing error by catcher Luis Martinez before scoring on Jose Osuna’s grounder to short.

Portland could do little with Curve starter Chad Kuhl, mustering just three hits and a walk off the right-hander.

Kuhl was lifted after six innings and 68 pitches, though, and reliever Tom Harlan gave up a one-out double to Sam Travis in the seventh followed by Roberson’s shot to left, his fourth homer of the season.

With the double, Travis reached base for the 46th time in 49 starts with the Sea Dogs.

Kyle Kaminska, making his Double-A debut after posting a 2.56 ERA in 382/3 innings with Salem, allowed a walk while striking out three in the final two innings to earn the save.

Portland improved to 17-22 in one-run games.
