ALTOONA, Pa. — The Altoona Curve scored six runs in the second inning and cruised to an easy victory to salvage the series finale with a 7-2 win over the the Portland Sea Dogs on Thursday night.

The Sea Dogs won the first two games of the series on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Portland starter Danny Rosenbaum, who entered the game with an 0-5 record, lasted just 1 1/3 innings.

After a fairly easy first inning – Rosenbaum surrendering only a walk to Curve designated hitter Max Moroff – Altoona erupted with four hits and two walks in the second inning, as seven Curve batters reached base and six scored.

Portland got on the board in the top of the fifth inning as Tze-Wei Lin lined a triple to right field, driving home Luis Martinez and Manuel Margot.

Margot went 3 for 5 with three singles and reached on an error to lead a Portland offense that outhit Altoona, 9-8.

The Curve had eight hits, five for extra bases.

Steven Brault picked up the win for the Curve, going 6 1/3 innings and holding Portland to one earned run on seven hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

A home run by Barrett Barnes to center capped the scoring for Altoona as John Cornely pitched the final two innings in relief.
