WATERVILLE, Maine – The lawyer of a high school principal in Maine says he has been placed on administrative leave amid a police investigation.
Waterville Senior High School Principal Don Reiter was placed on paid leave last week.
Police Chief Joseph Massey says Reiter is being investigated. Massey says police received a complaint on Aug. 27 but would not disclose any details surrounding the investigation.
Reiter’s lawyer says neither he nor his client knows why he is being investigated but they will meet with the superintendent and the school district’s lawyer on Tuesday. They hope to learn more about the nature of the investigation.
Reiter has served as principal at the school since 2007.
