BANGOR — Joe Seccareccia completed 18 of 24 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns to lift Husson University to a 40-7 win over Castleton State on Saturday.

Robenson Saintard had seven catches for 94 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown. Deon Wiggins added four catches for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Eagles (2-1, 1-0 ECFC) defense had four sacks and forced a fumble while holding Castleton State (2-2, 0-1) to 32 yards rushing on 38 carries.

TUFTS 17, BATES 16: Willie Holmquist kicked a 34-yard field goal with 14:11 left in the fourth quarter to give the Jumbos the lead in a win over the Bobcats in Lewiston.

Bates (0-2) jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a 1-yard TD run by Frank Williams in the first quarter and a 31-yard TD pass from Patrick Dugan to Mickroy Nichols.

Tufts (2-0) controlled play in the second half with quarterback Alex Snyder hitting wideout Jack Cooleen for a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter, from 45 yards and 27 yards respectively, to tie the game at 14-14 heading to the fourth quarter.

Williams had 14 carries for 71 yards for the Bobcats, while Dugan went 9 or 17 with 97 yards passing and a touchdown.

Cooleen finished with seven catches for 178 yards for Tufts, Snyder was 19 for 37 for 280 yards and two touchdown passes.

MIDDLEBURY 28, COLBY 9: Matt Milano threw three touchdowns to spark the Panthers (2-0) past the Mules (0-2) in Middlebury, Vermont.

Milano hit Ian Riley with a 10-yard pass and Trevor Miletich with a 6-yarder to open a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Milano’s second period TD pass to Ryan Rizzo pushed the lead to 21-2 at the half.

Each team added a fourth-quarter touchdown, with the Mules scored on Jabari Hurdle-Price’s 2-yard plunge.

AMHERST 37, BOWDOIN 6: Reece Foy scored on a 90-yard run and caught and 18-yard TD pass from Adam Wallace to help the Jeffs (2-0) take a 24-0 lead in the first quarter and beat the Polar Bears (0-2) in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Kenny Adinkra started the scoring for Amherst, capping a 65-yard drive with an 8-yard TD run.

Charlie Wall kicked three field goals and four PATs for Amherst.

Bryan Porter scored on a 5-yard pass play from Tim Drakeley for Bowdoin.

COAST GUARD 21, MAINE MARITIME 14: Senior defensive back Mark Behne had a pair of fourth-quarter interceptions, including one in the end zone with 40 seconds left in the game to preserve the win, as the Bears (3-2) held off the Mariners (1-3) at Castine.

Maine Maritime took the lead on a pair of Michael Fahey touchdown runs, but Coast Guard answered with a Mike Clancy 3-yard plunge and 37-yard strike from Derek Victory to Kyle Jackson as the teams went to halftime knotted at 14.

The Bears took the lead with 11:55 left in the fourth quarter as Victory threw his second touchdown of the game, hitting Jordan Groff from 7 yards out.

Behne’s second interception halted a 17-play, 84-yard Mariner drive to try to send the game to overtime.
