Greely Middle School students have returned to their classrooms after they were evacuated Thursday morning “due to a safety concern,” according an email from the superintendent to students’ families.

The school in Cumberland had received a bomb threat, according a dispatcher for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. There was no indication that a bomb was found.

Students and staff were relocated to the high school and had been expected to return to the middle school later today, Superintendent Jeff Porter wrote in the message sent at 10:39 a.m.

“All students and staff are safe. This is a precaution only,” he said.

Porter wasn’t available to answer questions.
