FARGO, N.D. — Sigi Koizar had 16 points, 10 assists and seven steals as the University of Maine (2-2) cruised past North Dakota State (2-2) 82-51 on Sunday.

The Black Bears opened a 21-5 lead by shooting 77 percent from the floor and holding the Bison without a field goal in the first quarter.

Liz Wood moved into 13th place on the all-time scoring list at Maine, scoring 11 points to push her career total to 1,169. She also grabbed three rebounds to move into 10th place in career rebounding (666).

Sophie Weckstrom added 15 point and Bella Swan 14 for Maine.

SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 78, PSU-BEAVER 75: Alicia Hoyt made two free throws to give the SeaWolves (7-1) a one-point lead with 5:12 to play in a win over the Lions (0-4) in South Portland.

VASSAR 15, BOWDOIN 10: The Brewers (11-1) advanced to the national semifinals of the USA Rugby Division II tournament with a quarterfinal victory against the Polar Bears (9-1) in Poughkeepsie, New York. Addison Carvajal and Paige Pfannensteil both had a try for Bowdoin.

Women’s hockey

CONNECTICUT 2, MAINE 0: Leah Burgess scored during a first-period power play, Kayla Mee scored early in the third period, and goalie Ekaine Chuli made 38 saves to lift the Huskies (6-6-2, 3-4 Hockey East) over the Black Bears (6-9, 3-7) in Orono. Meghann Treacy had 19 saves for Maine.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

BATES 86, UM-FT. KENT 65: Marcus Delpeche scored 16 points as the Bobcats (2-0) beat the Bengals (4-4) in Waterville.

Mike Boornazian added 15 points. Jake Rioux scored 11 for UM-Fort Kent.

PSU-BEAVER 92, SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 80: Lamont Wright scored 25 points, and Marcus Smith 22, to lead the Lions (2-3) past the SeaWolves (3-5) in South Portland.

Christian Perkins added 16 for the Lions. Grayson Waterman scored 29 for SMCC.

WILLIAMS 1, COLBY 0: Roberto Cellini tipped Frankie Mork’s shot past Colby goalie Emerson Verrier six minutes into the second period and the Ephs’ (2-0, 2-0 NESCAC) beat the Mules (0-2, 0-2) in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

BOWDOIN 4, MIDDLEBURY 4: Matt Rubinoff scored the tying goal as the Polar Bears (0-1-1) rallied from a 4-1 deficit to tie the Panthers (1-0-1) in Middlebury, Vermont.

Brendan McGovern scored twice, while Zach Haggerty and Vincent Gisonti also scored for Middlebury. Kendall Culbertson scored in the first period, while Matt Sullivan scored in the second and Spencer Antunez in the third as Bowdoin rallied.
