A Buxton man was injured Wednesday when he lost control of his car and came within 3 feet of crashing into a bank on Main Street in Waterboro.
York County Sheriff William King Jr. said Richard Smith, 69, was driving on Main Street when his Nissan Altima crossed the center line, went into the opposite travel lane and left the road.
Smith’s car went onto the property of Biddeford Savings Bank before hitting a tree. His car was demolished. Smith was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. His condition was unavailable Wednesday night.
